Arrived Prinos on Thasos yesterday and just decided to go with the flow. The flow were some backpackers with tents and stuff. Normally campers go to nice places,but arriving to Golden Beach and seeing all the beach umbrellas and the menues in romanian and russian was a big dissapointment. Stayed the night in a overpriced room and spen the evening watching how bad tourism can be....
This morning i jumped on the local bus and in the end was back in Prinos. Was close to leave this island today,but was lucky and found a nice guesthouse offering me a nice room with wifi and nice balcony for 20 euro. Some pretty good beaches around,and best of all: a restaurant with a wannabe James Oliver chef! Absolutely great food! Greek traditional dishes with a touch of soul and some really great salads with stuff produced on the island. All the staff is PAOK-supporters and treat me very nice since they beat us so bad in the qualifier matches.....
Staying here two nights and then going on to Samothraki. Probably have to stay the night in Alexandroupoli cause the ferrys are on low season schedule from 1 of september.
Tomorrow will be just a long day on the beach. Found a nice spot to have my hammock right on the beach! If i get restless (i know i will...) i will rent a bicycle and do a swing south looking for some secluded beaches. Nature here is just beautiful. The whole island is covered with big pine and tamarisk-trees. Big mountains and lush valleys. But the tourist-scene is a bit boring.
Not my cup of tea.....
